dates: 11-14 november: 13h-17h
levels: All levels
pricing: 320 euros, includes 4 afternoons, hand-outs and 1 studio class per day during the event
who is this event for?
This immersion was created for all teachers, teacher trainees and enthusiastic students who want to deepen their knowledge of the different asana groups with their adjustments and how to toss them together into an intelligent design for their own home practice or teachings.
what is the goal with this event?
The idea is that you will leave this immersion with a refreshed idea of how you can design your own practice/ yoga class in an intelligent way, being able to adjust postures according to your (students’) physical and energetic needs.
what will happen at this event?
In general a day looks like this: After a brief warm-up, we will dive into a specific asana group, with their specific traits. Then we will pick out a few key postures with all their adjustments. The last day will be spent combining the knowledge of the previous days so that we can intelligently design our own practice or our classes.
Day 1: What kinds of adjustments are there? What asana groups are there? Intro to first asana group.
Day 2-4: overview of other asana groups.
Day 4: intelligent and creative sequencing
Denies is the founder of Atelier Du Mon, together with her husband Nathan. With over 10 years of teaching experience and a personal interest in all things biomechanics and innovative, she has created her own style of sequencing and teaching. She loves transmitting this knowledge to fellow enthusiasts and yogis feeling stuck in their current practice. As an osteopath, she has also finetuned her way of and view of hands-on adjustments that suit all body types, so that you can feel more free in your expression of asana. Denies's principles rely on a holistic view of the body, where the body is more than just the sum of its parts therefore it is always her goal to make yoga accessible to all, whilst still shifting boundaries in an aware way.
Next to Denies, will also be long time teacher and physiotherapist Nanna Hofman. Nanna is with her background very focused on keeping the practice and adjustments safe. She is all about practicing Ahimsa in everything she does, so expect to be challenged why/when/how to adjust. Nanna have been geeking out in combining her knowledge from Western Medicine and physiotherapy with her knowledge of Yoga-asana all over the world since 2017. She's taught 200h-students in the anatomy portion of their course with great success and will do her best to make practice safer and more sustainable for all.
